Jon Burlingame Despite all the musical superstars who entered this year’s Emmy competition, only one – Ed Sheeran – managed to score when the 75th annual Emmy Award nominations were announced Wednesday. Sheeran was nominated (along with co-writers Max Martin and Foy Vance) for the song “A Beautiful Game” for the season 3 finale of “Ted Lasso,” one of two songs from the popular Apple TV+ series that made it into the music-and-lyrics category. Emmy’s 550-member music peer group ignored the original songs entered by Dolly Parton, David Byrne, Steve Martin, Kid Cudi, Donald Glover and Lainey Wilson, as well as those from such Oscar-winning tunesmiths as Alan Menken, Steven Schwartz, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

Porno for Pyros have announced their first tour in 25 years in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their self-titled album.Titled ‘Horns, Thorns En Halos’ tour, the 21-city run will kick off on October 8 in Wheatland, California. From there, the band will be making stops all across North America including Las Vegas, Nevada, Chicago, Illinois,  Boston, Massachusetts,  Atlanta, Georgia, Nashville, Tennessee and more.The tour will wrap up on November 20 at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas.

Lil Uzi Vert has shared details of their upcoming headlining tour of the United States in support of their third studio album, ‘Pink Tape’.The tour, announced on Friday (July 7), will begin on October 21 at The Armory in Minneapolis. Soft Cell have announced a pair of expanded versions of their 2022 chart-topping album ‘*Happiness Not Included’.‘*Happiness Now Extended’ will feature longer versions of all 12 tracks from the original version, while ‘*Happiness Now Completed’ will feature 10 previously unreleased songs from the same recording sessions, penned by members Marc Almond and Dave Ball. The latter also houses covers of songs by Giorgio Moroder, X-Ray Spex and Fad Gadget.The two expanded versions are set for release on July 28 via BMG.

The Eagles, one of rock’s most enduring bands, has announced its final tour after more than 50 years on the road, with a Sept. 7 launch at New York’s Madison Square Garden and the tour likely continuing into 2025.

They are taking flight one last time.Popular rock ‘n’ roll band The Eagles announced Thursday that they plan on embarking on a final cross-country tour beginning in September through 2025.“Our long-run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed,” the band said in an emotional statement. “But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”  “The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages,” continued the statement, which then goes on to give a bit of the band’s history.

The Lincoln Lawyer starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo returns for its second season this month.Based on the books by Michael Connelly, the legal drama series follows LA defense attorney Mickey Haller who takes on cases from the backseat of a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Navigator instead of an office.Other cast members include Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson and Christopher Gorham. New cast additions for season two include Yaya DaCosta, Lana Parrilla and Angelica Maria.The second season is based on the fourth book in the series, titled The Fifth Witness, and is split into two parts.The first five episodes will drop on Netflix on Thursday July 6 at 8am BST in the UK.

An “ultra rare” Ed Sheeran demo CD has sold at auction for £8000. Just 21 copies of the album, recorded when Sheeran was thirteen, are known to exist.

James Blake has announced his new album ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’ and shared its lead single ‘Big Hammer’.‘Playing Robots In Heaven’ is set for release on September 8 via Polydor/ Republic. Ed Sheeran to the rescue!  Fans were treated to an extra dose of Sheeran at his Maryland concert Saturday after the singer-songerwriter revealed his opening act, singer Khalid, had been in a car accident. In a video shared to social media, Sheeran told his packed audience that Khalid "got in a car accident this week," before confirming he would be his own opening act. "He's recovering, and we wish him the best," he added, before joking with the audience that fans who were not privy to the change might be confused by Sheeran's initial set.
