A nutrient full drink could help speed up digestion and tackle dangerous body fat, according to one health expert.
The best way to reach a healthy weight is a mix of a balanced diet and exercise.
However, wellness psychologist Ieva Kebiliute says that coriander juice could help speed up results for those carrying visceral fat, reports The Express.
Visceral fat - often dubbed the 'hidden fat' - lies in the body's midsection where it is not visible and cannot be touched.
Carrying large amount of the fat can increase the risk of chronic health conditions in including heart disease and metabolic disorders.
The expert explained that to help tackle the fat, a combination of coriander leaves, seeds, flowers and fruit are packed with high contents of antioxidants can help by aiding digestion.
The plant exhibits a wide range of medicinal activities which include anti-diabetic, antioxidant and anticancer functions.
Ieva Kubiliute, Wellness Psychologist, said "Coriander juice is popular for quick weight shedding.
"It works by increasing your metabolism, thus burning more calories at a faster frequency.
"You may not like its taste, but blending with lemon juice improves the flavour and gives more effect."
In one study published in the Journal of Agriculture & Biology, researchers investigated the effects of dietary supplementation with coriander seeds on visceral adipose tissue lipid storage in growing rats.
Rodents were fed either standard rat chow or a standard chow supplemented with crushed coriander seeds.
After five weeks, researchers noted a marked difference in the visceral fat among different rodents.
