The car park at a popular beauty spot in Oldham was jam-packed after visitors flocked to the reservoir ahead of expected good weather.
Dovestone Reservoir is very popular with visitors, and often sees its car park filled with people from across Greater Manchester, and even further afield. Today, April 15, was no different, as visitors flocked to the beauty spot to enjoy the Good Friday sun that was forecast.
Pictures from the site showed a car park filled to bursting, with signs put in place at the entrance stating the car park was now full. These signs, alongside cones blocking the road for incoming traffic, see visitors turn their vehicles away to either find somewhere else to park or give up on their planned outing altogether.

Security marshalls are on hand to close off the car park when spaces are full as busy days usually see cars being abandoned in places not intended for parking - sometimes blocking access to the houses by the reservoir, leaving residents worried they would be unreachable in the case of an emergency.
A higher number of visitors also brings other concerns for residents, who see fires taking hold on the nearby moorland every year after BBQs or campfires are lit at the popular beauty spot. Each fire has a devastating impact on the wildlife, and so both things are banned at the reservoir, alongside fireworks, to try and prevent wildfires.
