Donald Glover Quietly Releases New Childish Gambino Album: Listen

Louis C.K. is emerging with a new standup comedy special, his first since he acknowledged that disturbing allegations of sexual misconduct made by several female comedians in a 2017 New York Times story were true.

Ty Segall has shared Segall Smeagol, an EP featuring covers of six songs from the classic Harry Nilsson album Nilsson Schmilsson. “I wanted to cover Nilsson Schmilsson for years, so I used the opportunity of being at home to cover my favorite cuts from the record,” Segall said. Back in October, Frank Ocean previewed a pair of new songs during his first-ever PrEP+ club night in New York City. “Dear April” and “Cayendo” received remixes from Justice and Sango respectively, and listings for 7" vinyl editions of the new music was subsequently made available to pre-order on Frank’s webstore. Now, months later, those physical copies have finally shipped to fans.

Kesha’s social media presence in the time of social distancing has included, of course, a tutorial about washing hands to the tune of “TiK ToK.” Among the highlights from her timeline is a new song about Nicolas Cage. Last week, Donald Glover provided fans with a distraction from coronavirus quarantine by surprise-dropping a 12-song new album in the wee hours of the morning, which was available to stream on a dedicated website before being removed approximately 12 hours later. At 3 a.m. ET Sunday, he officially released the album onto streaming services, with a title of last Sunday’s date, “3.15.20.”

This might be a game changer, ladies and gentlemen. As movie theaters shutter in New York and Los Angeles, the film world could be largely devoid of new releases until some time in the summer.
