2023 MTV VMAs had a camera operator whose job it was to “continuously” film Taylor Swift during other artists’ live performances.That’s according to Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, who tweeted about “how important” the ‘Midnights’ pop star is to the awards ceremony.Setoodeh shared a clip of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion delivering the debut performance of their latest collaboration ‘Bongos’ at the New Jersey event last night (September 12). The footage showed a cameraman filming Swift close-up as she danced to the song on the front row.“How important is Taylor Swift to the #VMAs?” he wrote above the video.

Rodrigo made her VMAs debut in 2021 when she performed “good 4 u.” She came away with three wins for Best New Artist, Push Artist and Song of the Year. She joins previously announced performers Lil Wayne, Anitta, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini, K-pop band Tomorrow X Together, Demi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin and Stray Kids.

Adding yet another accolade to his collection of wins, mega magnate Sean “Diddy” Combs, 53, is poised to receive the distinguished Global Icon Award at MTV’s 2023 Video Music Awards on September 12. “He’s a legend in hip hop, a multi-industry mogul, and now… the GLOBAL ICON at this year’s VMAs,” MTV tweeted Tuesday, announcing the “Bad Boys For Life” lyricist’s forthcoming honors.
