John Wick writer-creator Derek Kolstad, Sonic the Hedgehog producer Dmitri M. Johnson and former APA partner Mike Goldberg have joined forces to form Story Kitchen, a media company that will be hyperfocused on the creation and amplification of “world-building action” and “non-traditional intellectual property.”
“After having spent the last several years working together and admiring one another’s storytelling chops, energy, taste and ideas, we collectively came to the same conclusion: that the only way to double down on cooking up the most amazing franchises and worlds possible was for us to unite as one,” said Kolstad, Johnson and Goldberg in statement.
Dan Jevons, Tim Stevenson and Howard Bliss, previously of dj2, will be joining the new company in senior leadership roles.

Netflix to Warner Bros. Discovery scrambling to revise their pitch to shareholders. After spending tens of billions of dollars to ramp up programming for subscription-based streamers, media giants have discovered that the growth potential of the venture may be reaching its end. Consumers purchase only two, maybe three, of these services, and it’s getting harder for certain subscription companies to convince people to sign up for what they’re streaming. At the same time, customers are cutting the cable cord at a faster rate and imperiling a once lucrative revenue source for media conglomerates. Investors have taken note, causing shares of Disney, Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery and others to get pummeled in a sector-wide sell-off.
Dwayne Johnson is a level of celebrity that transcends being a mere movie star. While he recently announced he’s not currently considering a run for President of the United States, the fact that such an idea for Johnson was even raised shows just what level of fame he truly has. It’s also the level of fame where people want him to hold their babies, and are willing to crowdsurf their infants to make it happen.
Zack Sharf Dwayne Johnson recently told CinemaBlend that “the whole point” of bringing Black Adam to the big screen in his own standalone movie is so that one day he can make a Black Adam vs. Superman movie. Johnson has often been asked by fans which character would win in a fight (“It depends on who’s playing Superman,” he said at Comic-Con over the summer). When asked directly if he “intends to make a movie where Black Adam fights [Superman],” Johnson replied: “Absolutely. That is the whole point of this, man.” “I have been saying for some time, there’s a new era in the DC Universe that’s about to begin,” Johnson said. “And what I meant by that was introducing a brand new character. It’s not a sequel, not an existing IP. It was…you know, Black Adam. Two years ago the world had no idea who he was. We did, but not the rest of the masses out there. What I really meant by, ‘This is a new era in the DC Universe,’ is listening to the fans. And doing our best to give the fans what they want.”
Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson has been busy shaking hands and holding babies — but not in the name of politics. The 50-year-old actor recently shut down any possibility of a presidential run, saying it was «off the table» so that he could focus on being a present father to his youngest daughters. Meanwhile, the star went viral earlier this month for doting over a tiny baby girl who had essentially crowd surfed her way to the stage during a press event for his new film. In a new interview with ET's Nischelle Turner, he's addressing both situations with his signature good humor.«It was crazy,» he says of the viral moment with baby Luciana, which he shared on his personal Instagram page.
