Keanu Reeves is set to voice the character of Shadow in the upcoming movie Sonic The Hedgehog 3.As reported by Variety, the John Wick star will voice the character in the next instalment of the film series, adapted from the popular video game.In the game series, Shadow is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with black fur, and is somewhat of an antagonist.Reeves will be joining a star-studded cast, with the previous films featuring Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Jim Carrey, James Marsden and Idris Elba among others.The upcoming film, scheduled for a US release on December 20, 2024 will see many of the cast reprising their roles from the previous films. EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate‘s female-driven John Wick spinoff Ballerina has added David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy) and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Sex Education) to its cast amid reshoots abroad, Deadline can reveal.

Expanding their canvas with their John Wick filmmaker even further, Lionsgate has signed a second production deal with Chad Stahelski that will see the filmmaker and his 87Eleven Entertainment label producing original action fare for the studio. It’s a multi-year first look.

Chad Stahelski is a filmmaker who finds himself attached to a number of projects. And even though we get excited for every new film his name comes up about, Stahelski always ends up coming back to his baby—“John Wick.” Well, it appears the filmmaker is going to continue spearheading the ‘Wick’ franchise, but his next film is actually going to be something very different.

Chad Stahelski, who Deadline already told you was set to direct the reboot of starring Henry Cavill, has inked a deal with Lionsgate to oversee the creative on both that franchise and John Wick. Remember, John Wick is beginning to spinoff with the Ballerina this summer; Stahelski already an EP on that film.
