David de Gea has admitted Manchester United's trophy drought isn't good enough.
United welcomed Atletico Madrid in the last-16 second leg in the Champions League on Tuesday night. United started the match well and looked bright, but Diego Simeone's side took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Renan Lodi.
The Reds looked devoid of creativity in the second half and grew increasingly frustrated up against lines of Atletico's defence. The La Liga Champions' in-game management embarrassed United and their ability to play in a streetwise manner was the difference on the night. After crashing out of the Champions League, this season is officially another campaign without silverware for United.

United last won a trophy in 2017 and that is the club's worst trophy drought for 40 years, something which De Gea admitted isn't good enough.
"As soon as they scored a goal, they put the whole team in front of Oblak," De Gea told BT Sport. "10 players there, very defensive team, it's very difficult to score goals against them.
"We tried until the end but it wasn't enough to score a goal. I don't want to say anything on the referee. I think everyone watched it. This is football, we didn't do enough.
"Of course, it's not good enough, it's hard. It's hard for the club, for us, for the fans. Where we are at the moment, it's a difficult situation and we need to keep fighting, keep trying our best, but it's a tough moment.
