David Ayer Talks About His “Amazing” Version Of ‘Suicide Squad’ & How It “Scared The Sh*t” Out Of WB

EXCLUSIVE: David Ayer and Chris Long’s production studio Cedar Park Entertainment will take the leap to indie studio status after sealing a partnership with Raven Capital Management. For Ayer — the writer/director of films that include Suicide Squad, The Tax Collector, Bright, Fury, End of Watch and Street Kings – and Long (former Programming Chief at Audience Network), the deal gives them the cash to allow for growth and autonomy.

They’re dying to save the world, and director James Gunn is apparently dying to show you a new version of his trailer. As you’ll recall, Gunn broke the Film Twitter internet last Friday with a red-band, NSFW trailer for his R-Rated “Suicide Squad” trailer.

David Ayer still hopes his "amazing" director's cut of Suicide Squad will get released one day. The filmmaker helmed the 2016 DC Comics blockbuster, which followed the band of supervillains as they're hired to save the world by a secret government agency, and starred Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis.
