NBA star Carmelo Anthony has lined up a new gig voicing a character in the upcoming “Lil’ Heroes” animated series.Anthony and his producing partner Asani Swann, of Creative 7, have also joined the show, from Exile Content and Spanish artist Edgar Plans, as executive producers.The animated series is based on the “Lil’ Heroes” NFT collection. “We are excited to be partnering with Exile on what we believe is one of the most unique and innovative ideas for an animated series in a long time,” Anthony said in a statement. “At Creative 7, we are always looking to support dynamic projects like this that are reinvigorating the traditional content landscape.

A former AirBnB security team member has joined the production as an anonymous source and consultant for the series, Passage Pictures says.

Succession star Nicholas Braun is working on a series centred on an indie band in the 2000s.The actor, who is best known for playing Cousin Greg in the hit HBO show, is co-writing One For The Road with Chris Buongiorno (Spider-Man: No Way Home) for the same network.The half-hour show will be an intimate and candid story focused on a talented but chaotic band in the changing landscape of indie rock in the early noughties as they struggle to survive.The show is currently in the development stage, according to Variety, with Braun and Buongiorno also acting as executive producers.One For The Road isn’t the only writing work Braun has been involved with lately, the star revealing last year that he was developing the script for a “social horror movie” about reality shows.“I find reality shows to be kind of horrific,” he told GQ, explaining that he had been watching reality shows while in lockdown.During lockdown, the actor was also signed to Atlantic Records on the back of creating song ‘Antibodies (Do You Have The)‘, which was played more than a million times across Spotify and YouTube.Meanwhile, Succession writer Georgia Pritchett revealed last month that Braun’s character Greg was nearly written as gay on the HBO series.“It’s interesting how characters take on a life of their own,” she said on the Homo Sapiens podcast.“I had sort of advocated for Greg to be gay – until last season he hadn’t really done anything with anyone.” Pritchett went on to state her belief that the Roy children also move “in a circle where I think anything goes”.“I don’t think anyone’s closeted or not gonna do what they want to do,” the writer added, suggesting Kieran Culkin’s character Roman “feels a bit fluid and pan”.“I don’t think he’d hold back

Idris Elba will play a hostage negotiator in Hijack, a new seven-part drama series announced for Apple TV+.The series will follow the journey of a hijacked plane as it makes its way to London over a seven-hour flight, according to a press release, with negotiator Sam Nelson (Elba) using his experience in the business world to attempt to save the lives of the passengers.Written by George Kay (Lupin, Criminal) and directed by Jim Field Smith (The Wrong Mans), who also executive-produced the series alongside Elba, the project forms part of the Suicide Squad actor’s first-look deal with Apple TV+ and his Green Door Pictures.Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta and Kris Thykier are also set to co-star.Elba’s Green Door has several recent TV credits, such as BBC2’s Idris Elba: Fight School, which launched in the UK last week, as well as Netflix comedy Turn Up Charlie. A new mobile game adaptation, “Exploding Kittens – The Game,” is being co-developed and will launch via the streamer in May, well ahead of the TV show’s planned 2023 debut.The show, which is executive produced by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, follows the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell as it reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth – in the bodies of chunky house cats.Along with Ellis and Liu, “Exploding Kittens” stars Abraham Lim (“Clickbait,” “The Boys”), Ally Maki (“Wrecked,” “Toy Story 4”), Mark Proksch (“What We Do In The Shadows,” “Better Call Saul”) and Sasheer Zamata (“Woke,” “Home Economics”).

AFI frontman Davey Havok has partnered with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for a new ad, in which he speaks out against animal testing.“In animal testing that still occurs today, millions and millions of rats and rodents are destroyed for no good reason whatsoever,” Havok says during a video posted on World Rat Day (April 4).With a rescued rat named Wee Man resting on his shoulder, Havok specifically targets a rodent behavioural experiment called “the forced swim test”. Also known as “the despair test”, it is typically used for the evaluation of antidepressant drugs.“They take a little guy like Wee Man and they throw him in water to measure depression,” Havok explains during the ad.

British actor Tom Hiddleston is making quite the push for a career in television between “Loki” and the upcoming Apple TV+ series “The Essex Serpent.” He’s now looking to reunite with Apple for a harrowing story about a real-life adventurer. A bit of a change-up for the actor known for mostly playing within the fantastical settings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It is inspired by the true life account of Henry Worsley (Hiddleston), a devoted husband and father, a former soldier, a man of deep honor and sacrifice, but also a man deeply obsessed with adventure, manifesting in an epic journey crossing Antarctica on foot.Soo Hugh, who most recently created and showran the Apple series “Pachinko,” will serve as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on “The White Darkness.” Mark Heyman will executive produce and co-showrun. “Pachinko” executive producer Theresa Kang-Lowe and Caroline Garity of Blue Marble Pictures will also executive produce.

Loki is heading into The White Darkness for Apple.

The series is further described as a space adventure, an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and for her to recover all that she has lost.Apple has given the show a 10 episode order.

EXCLUSIVE: The Baker and the Beauty alum Victor Rasuk, Christopher Cassarino (New Amsterdam), Brooke Lyons (Lincoln Rhyme: The Hunt for the Bone Collector) and Eugene Byrd (8 Mile) are set for key recurring roles opposite Emayatzy Corinealdi in Disney’s Onyx Collective series Reasonable Doubt to stream on Hulu. The legal drama hails from writer/executive producer Raamla Mohamed (Scandal); executive producer Kerry Washington, who will direct the first episode; and ABC Signature.
