Danniella Westbrook has hit out at EastEnders once again after it was revealed she would not be reprising the role of her soap character Sam Mitchell. But, Kim appeared as Sam between 2002 and 2005, replacing Danniella temporarily.
Last week it was announced that 48 year old Kim would be reprising the role of Sam ahead of her return to Albert Square, leaving Danniella fuming. Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. You can sign up at the top of the page.
Danniella, who is said to feel "bitter" about the EastEnders snub, threatened the soap with legal action and has now hit out at the BBC programme once again. She has told The Sun: "I’ve been known as Sam Mitchell for 32 years. But nobody at EastEnders contacted me to let me know they had recast Kim in the role. There wasn’t even an email to my agent.
I was shocked because they do have a responsibility to tell me and someone should have." Actress Danniella, who has struggled with drug addiction since she was 14, and has said the snub could have had a negative impact on her. Danniella, who recently teased "secrets" in her autobiography, said: "The bosses have seen me go through addiction and they have no idea where I am today. "Thankfully I’m OK.
But if I hadn’t been it could have had very serious consequences for me." It comes after Danniella hit out at the show's decision in a tweet. She wrote: "Well well well who knew (three laughing face emojis) all I can say is thanks looks like I dodged a bullet. "Wishing Kym the best of luck at [EastEnders].
