"There is a chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris, as well as large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties," said the Met Office.
Elsewhere in the UK, strong winds of up to 90mph are feared and the Met Office has issued an 'amber' alert for areas north of Greater Manchester and Scotland.
