Dancing on Ice has been thrown into chaos just hours before the final live show on Sunday, 10 March, after finalist Greg Rutherford was forced to pull out. Former Olympics athlete Greg, who made it through to the final as co-star Amber Davies was sent home last week, sustained a nasty injury during training, which left him rushing to hospital for treatment. Announcing the news via Instagram, his professional skating partner Vanessa James shared that she was on the way to hospital alongside Greg.
Sharing a selfie with Greg, she wrote: "Unfortunately Greg has sustained a significant injury this morning at rehearsals and won’t be able to perform tonight. We are on our way to the hospital for Greg to get examined further and receive the treatment he needs." Greg's absence from the final means that it is left to MIC star Miles Nazaire, ex-Corrie actor Ryan Thomas and radio presenter Adele Roberts to battle it out to be crowned the winner. Fans have been left gutted over Greg's absence, taking to the comment section of Vanessa's post to share their well wishes and sadness.
"Oh no! Hope he’s ok! Will miss you tonight. You are my winners," wrote one fan. Another commented: "What sad news! .
