Fans of Dancing On Ice were left confused after tuning in to Sunday 14 March's episode when it became apparent that Phillip Schofield would be presenting the show alone. Holly Willoughby, who usually hosts the Sunday night extravaganza alongside her This Morning co-star, was forced to pull out last minute after testing positive for Covid-19.
Phillip, 59, was therefore handed the responsibility of presenting the skating showdown alone after being told that there would be no replacement for Holly, 41. Numerous viewers were seemingly unhappy about the one-man hosting style, taking to Twitter to point out that when Phillip was absent a few weeks back, Stephen Mulhern was put in his place.

While another wrote: "@dancingonice so how come Phil has to present alone, yet Holly co-presented with Stephen Mulhern when the Schof was off with covid?" A third added: "So when the Schofield was off they got in the Mulhern but now Holly is off the Schofield is presenting by himself??!!" However, other viewers defended show boss' decision for Phillip to handle the semi-final show alone, suggesting the possibility that the change was so last minute that they were unable to find someone to step into Holly's shoes.
One viewer tweeted: "They literally only found out a few hours before, so didn't have time to get a replacement. It's really not that deep".
