EXCLUSIVE: Aliyah Mastin (Honeygirls) and Percy Daggs IV (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) are set as series regulars opposite Sterling K. Brown in Dan Fogelman‘s new Hulu drama, joining previously announced James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi and Nicole Brydon Bloom. Additionally Michelle Meredith (The Morning Show) and Cassidy Freeman (The Righteous Gemstones) have been tapped to recur in the series from 20th Television.
The premise of Fogelman’s new drama has not been revealed but it is believed to revolve around the President (Marsden) and his Secret Service detail led by Brown’s character.
Mastin and Daggs play the children to Brown’s character. Freeman portrays the President’s estranged wife and Meredith plays a waitress at a local diner. Freeman and Meredith join previously announced recurring cast including Gerald McRaney, Krys Marshall, Charlie Evans and Jon Beavers.
The series, produced by 20th Television, is executive produced by Fogelman, Brown, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Steve Beers.
Daggs most recently was seen as a series regular in Apple’s The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, portraying the younger version of Samuel L. Jackson’s title character. His previous credits include a recurring role in Prime Video’s Undone with Daveed Diggs and Rosa Salazar and a guest-starring role in Solos, alongside Nicole Beharie, also for Prime. He also played the son of Gabrielle Dennis in a supporting role in the NBC pilot Someone Out There. He will next be seen playing the son of Halle Berry in Lionsgate’s upcoming thriller Never Let Go. Daggs is managed by his parents and repped by Jeremy Apody at LA Talent and Ashley Silver at Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver and Thompson, LLP.
