The New York Times Critic Circle selected “First Cow.” The Los Angeles Film Critics Association picked “Small Axe.” And now the National Board of Review has finally weighed in by announcing that Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods” is their selection for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Ensemble of 2020.

American Chopper is on the channel that's hard to not call the Discovery Channel but is technically just called Discovery, and the kids' movie Artemis Fowl is skipping theaters and heading straight to Disney+. But there's stuff on Netflix too, of course, most notably the new Spike Lee movie Da 5 Bloods and Season 2 of dating reality series Dating Around.

I May Destroy You might just be the TV show of the summer. The new, gripping drama stars Michaela Cole (Chewing Gum) as a young woman who was drugged and sexually assaulted after a night out and must piece together what happened in the following days.

Blue Bloods' Griffin Newman is asking actors who play police officers on-screen to donate to organizations fighting for social justice reform.  "I'm an out-of-work actor who (improbably) played a detective on two episodes of BLUE BLOODS almost a decade ago," Newman wrote on Twitter on Monday, June 1.

Spike Lee is on the verge of releasing his latest feature, the highly-anticipated Netflix film, “Da 5 Bloods.” But just because Netflix is footing the bill for his new feature, which takes place both in the modern-day and five decades in the past, don’t go thinking that Lee got the same budget that other awards-worthy films from the streaming company have received over the years.

Netflix has released the very first trailer for Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods which was reportedly set to debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The movie will arrive on the streaming platform next month and looks absolutely superb.

The movie — which stars Chadwick Boseman and Delroy Lindo, among others — follows African American veterans who return to Vietnam to find the remains of their squad leader (Boseman) and are confronted by the lingering effects of the war.

All eyes were going to be on Spike Lee’s follow up to his Oscar winning effort BlacKkKlansman. After all, it not just was a hit, getting nominated for Best Picture and Best Director, it got Lee his first Academy Award, taking home the prize for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Spike Lee will now join the ranks with Martin Scorsese, Alfonso Cuarón, Noah Baumbach, and Bong Joon Ho as the latest auteur director to develop a movie for Netflix. His latest joint — the first since his Oscar-winning BlacKkKlansman — is Da 5 Bloods, which set to debut on Friday, June 12. On Monday, the streaming service released a trailer for the pic, and it looks appropriately epic.
