This weekend will see King Charles III and Queen Camilla officially crowned during their Coronation at Westminster Abbey. Charles, who instantly became monarch last September following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, will leave the Abbey with his wife and other senior members of the royal family and head back to Buckingham Palace, where they’ll pose on the iconic balcony for photographs.

Ahead of next week's historic Coronation ceremony, it has officially been announced that King Charles III will become the first monarch to pray aloud in front of a coronation congregation in a “powerful” new addition to the service. A special personal prayer has been written especially for Charles to say during the historic May 6 ceremony – one of many new firsts for the once in a lifetime occasion.The words chosen will reflect the “loving service” theme of the liturgy and were inspired in part by the popular patriotic hymn I Vow To Thee My Country, which was written back in 1921.

Anne will ride on horseback behind the gold state coach carrying the newly crowned King and Queen Consort as they travel down The Mall.The Mirror reported Charles has given his younger sister the prominent role during the historic day in recognition of her service.The newspaper reported a royal source as saying about Charles: “He is rewarding the Princess Royal for her loyalty and her unwavering devotion to duty.” Hundreds of troops will take part in the procession through the streets of the capital, likely to be led by the Household Cavalry’s Life Guards and Blues and Royals.The procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace will include armed forces personnel from across the Commonwealth and British overseas territories, and all UK armed forces, the newspaper reported.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out for date night to cheer on the Los Angeles Lakers Monday night amid King Charles III’s coronation plans. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles during the Lakers versus Memphis Grizzlies playoff game at Crypto.com Arena.  While Markle, 41, donned a two-piece pink blazer and matching shorts ensemble, Prince Harry, 38, sported a dark-colored jacket with a casual white t-shirt underneath, black jeans and white sneakers. Food critic Tom Parker Bowles discussed what sorts of dishes would be fit for a King and Queen on the big day when he appeared on The News Agents podcast. The 48 year old writer also gave his verdict on Coronation Chicken – the dish invented to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II taking the throne in June 1953 – describing it as "really horrible" now, despite it being something "quite nice and probably quite exotic for the 50s".
