The Critics Choice Association (of which I’m a member) released their nominations earlier today for the Series categories of the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards. Netflix had a big day, with The Crown and Ozark both leading the way with six citations apiece.
They weren’t the only ones to get a lot of love, as Lovecraft Country, Mrs. America, Schitt’s Creek, and What We Do In The Shadows each received five nominations.

Emma Corrin screamed and jumped with delight on hearing she had been nominated for a Golden Globe on Wednesday afternoon (2 February). The Crown star shot to fame for her uncanny portrayal of Princess Diana in the Netflix hit, which also saw its star Olivia Colman get a nod for her performances as the Queen.
The Crown put in a regal performance among Golden Globe voters, as Season 4 of Netflix’s lavish royal drama scooped a record number of nominations.
It was a big night for excellence in Black filmmaking.

That includes nominations for best drama series and for best actress in a drama series for Emma Corrin, who broke out as Princess Diana this season.
“Chadwick Bosman was an amazing artist. We’ve all been thrilled, and excited, and overwhelmed by the depth of his work,” said Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom director George C. Wolfe who presented the late actor Chadwick Bosman with Performance of the Year Award at Critics’ Choice Association’s virtual annual celebration Of Black cinema. “He was so present, not just as an actor but he was present as a human being.”
Dylan McDermott is joining the team. The star has signed on to the cast of the upcoming spinoff series, .McDermott will star alongside Christopher Meloni in the new series, which has not yet announced a premiere date.
Apple+ television series called Lessons in Chemistry.The new drama series, which Larson will also produce, is penned by Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant.Ozark star Jason Bateman will also executive produce the series alongside Michael Costigan and Larson.The series will be based on an upcoming novel from Bonnie Garmus and is set in the early 1960s.
