Critics Choice Series Nominations Led By “The Crown” And “Ozark”

Emma Corrin screamed and jumped with delight on hearing she had been nominated for a Golden Globe on Wednesday afternoon (2 February). The Crown star shot to fame for her uncanny portrayal of Princess Diana in the Netflix hit, which also saw its star Olivia Colman get a nod for her performances as the Queen.

The Crown put in a regal performance among Golden Globe voters, as Season 4 of Netflix’s lavish royal drama scooped a record number of nominations.

It was a big night for excellence in Black filmmaking.

That includes nominations for best drama series and for best actress in a drama series for Emma Corrin, who broke out as Princess Diana this season.

“Chadwick Bosman was an amazing artist. We’ve all been thrilled, and excited, and overwhelmed by the depth of his work,” said Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom director George C. Wolfe who presented the late actor Chadwick Bosman with Performance of the Year Award at Critics’ Choice Association’s virtual annual celebration Of Black cinema. “He was so present, not just as an actor but he was present as a human being.”

Dylan McDermott is joining the team. The  star has signed on to the cast of the upcoming  spinoff series, .McDermott will star alongside Christopher Meloni in the new series, which has not yet announced a premiere date.

Apple+ television series called Lessons in Chemistry.The new drama series, which Larson will also produce, is penned by Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant.Ozark star Jason Bateman will also executive produce the series alongside Michael Costigan and Larson.The series will be based on an upcoming novel from Bonnie Garmus and is set in the early 1960s. The series is due to arrive on screens in spring 2022.According to Variety, the drama will follow “Elizabeth Zott (Larson), whose dream of being

All bow down to The Crown for the royal-themed show is one of the shows that has bagged the most Critics Choice Awards 2021 nominations this year. The TV category of Critics' Choice Awards 2021 have been announced and it has been revealed that the Netflix drama has bagged six nominations.

The Crown and Ozark lead the nominees for the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards in the TV categories. The shows — each of which garnered six noms — help give Netflix the lead among streamers/networks overall, with a total of 26, followed by HBO/HBO Max with 24.

TV must go on! The first wave of nominations for the 26th annual Critics’ Choice Awards was announced on Monday, January 18. The film nominees are set to be announced on Sunday, February 7, while the show will air on The CW on Sunday, March 7.

The 26th annual Critics Choice Awards unveiled its series nominees on Monday with Netflix’s Ozark and The Crown leading the pack with six nominations each. Film nominees and the ceremony’s format will be revealed on  February 7. Taye Diggs is set to return as host for the third time and the winners will be revealed live on The CW on  March 7 at 7PM ET/PT.

Ozark, which has us more antsy than watching the pressure cooker that was Season 3. But unfortunately we have to wait 'til who knows when to see the conclusion of Netflix's tense crime saga.
