Critics Choice Awards Adds London Broadcast to its US Show on March 13

In person award ceremonies are back and the American Cinema Editors guild did something different this time around. Instead of a dinner, this year’s ACE Guild Awards took place at the historic Ace Hotel Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

On Saturday, a double dose of the Art Directors Guild (ADG) and American Cinema Editors Awards (ACE Eddies), and on Sunday, the Film Independent Spirit Awards, airing on IFC.Paying special attention to ADG and ACE Eddies since there’s Oscar crossover, we’re expecting a couple of surprises at both.

Actor Sam Elliott, has made headlines after going on a foul-mouthed tirade over the critically acclaimed film The Power of the Dog, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons. Elliott appeared to be particularly incensed by the homosexual subtext of the film.Elliott, 77, was appearing on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast on Monday when Maron asked about his thoughts on the film.
