The genius behind ITV's much-loved comedy, Benidorm, has hinted at a possible revival of the show, five years after it was cancelled. Derren Litten, the creator, has teased that he's ready to pen new episodes, sparking excitement among fans. Derren, 52, is the mastermind behind the hit show which ran for ten seasons and over 74 episodes for more than a decade.
He's now suggested he's prepared to write the same number of episodes again, as he has plenty of ideas for what his beloved characters would do next. Benidorm aired from 2007 until 2018, bagging numerous awards and nominations including NTAs and BAFTAs. It even inspired a spin-off stage show, Benidorm Live, which ran in 2018 and 2019.
The show was a ratings success, often attracting audiences close to eight million.
The cast included Jake Canuso, Siobhan Finneran, Steve Pemberton and Johnny Vegas.
