It’s timed for the final day of the Emmy eligibility period, so fans and Television Academy voters can binge the entire season. The new season, which spans nine episodes, will be available for streaming and on-demand for subscribers of Paramount+ with the Showtime package.
Additionally, the season’s initial two episodes will premiere on linear cable on Sunday, June 2, at 10 p.m. Following, two episodes will air back-to-back each Sunday, culminating in the season finale on June 30. With its fourth season, “Couples Therapy” has officially joined the Emmy race, vying for the outstanding structured reality program category.
It faces stiff competition from the reigning champion “Queer Eye” on Netflix, along with long-standing contenders like “Shark Tank” from ABC and “Antiques Roadshow” on PBS. The series provides an intimate look into the therapy sessions conducted by psychoanalyst Dr. Orna Guralnik.
In the opening episodes of the fourth season, Dr. Guralnik delves into the complex relationships of four new couples. These include a polyamorous trio dealing with power struggles and hidden resentments, newlyweds navigating religious and sexual differences after cutting ties with a critical mother, a volatile young couple trying cohabitation for their child’s sake, and a challenging case of a man with dissociative identity disorder, struggling with memory lapses during conflicts with his partner.
