Businesses are no longer being charged rent if they lease properties from East Ayrshire Council and have had to shut because of coronavirus.
The council has decided to waive three months rent for April, May and June for the firms who occupy council-owned properties.
It comes after a number of business tenants asked for a lifeline.
The council’s legal estate services manager Stuart McCall said 36 tenants have been awarded rent rebates.
