Ever since Roman Reigns confirmed that he has decided to opt-out of the WrestleMania 36 Universal Championship match against Goldberg, fans were trying to figure out who will replace the WWE superstar in the eagerly anticipated match. While there were speculations that WWE has picked Braun Strowman for the job, the company tried the keep the news under tight wraps. However, the platform finally made the announcement during the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Even though he is currently self-isolating and has pulled out of the WrestleMania 36 event, Roman Reigns still cares about the WWE fans and is staying connected with them. The WWE superstar gave a young hospitalised fan the surprise of his life when he sent him a heart-warming video message.

While the fans were eagerly waiting to see the WWE superstar in action at the upcoming WrestleMania 36 event, Roman Reigns revealed that he has decided to opt-out of the Universal Championship match against Goldberg. Since the 34-year-old Wrestler is immunocompromised because of his battle with leukemia, he did not want to risk his health amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. However, experts think the Roman might stay away from the wrestling ring long after the upcoming event.

Last week it was reported that WWE superstar Roman Reigns has decided to opt out of the WrestleMania 36 Universal Championship match against Goldberg. While initially there was no official confirmation, the 34-year-old wrestler confirmed the news in a lengthy video posted on Instagram. In the clip, Roman also slammed people for criticising his choice and defended his decision to prioritise his health. “Plain and simple, it’s “Nice to be nice”. You should try it ASAP!” he wrote in the caption.

Ever since the WWE announced that Roman Reigns will lock horns with Goldberg at the WrestleMania 36, the fans were eagerly waiting to see the two in action. However, amid the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, Roman decided to opt out of the Universal Championship match. And according to the latest news, WWE has already picked a wrestler to take Roman’s place in the event. Braun Strowman will replace him against WWE Universal Champion in the upcoming match, Wrestling Observer Radio reported.

WrestleMania 36 is still scheduled to go ahead but at least one pro wrestling star will be missing.

Roman Reigns had to take a leave of absence in 2018, due to the return of his leukemia diagnosis, which he has been battling with for 11 years (at that time). After recovering, Roman made a successful comeback with his recent feud with Goldberg, heading to the main event match at Wrestlemania 36 for the Universal Championship.

WWE superstar Triple H recently opened up about losing his WrestleMania 30 match against Daniel Bryan back in 2014 and blamed his performance on his heavy entrance gear. The wrestler stated that the costume he wore for the event weighed around 45 lbs and took a toll on his legs, because of which he failed to perform during the match. Hilariously reacting to the 50-year-old wrestling star’s tweet, Dave Batista recalled being slammed for wearing a blue costume for a match.
