Next week in Coronation Street, Roy Cropper takes to the stand after being charged with Lauren Bolton's murder. The teenager has been missing since the end of February and the cafe owner has been DS Lisa Swain's prime suspect since they started investigating the case.
Lauren's disappearance soon became a murder probe and the beloved cafe owner was quickly placed in the frame after he was revealed as the last person to see Lauren alive - and misguidedly deep-cleaned Lauren’s flat after she mysteriously disappeared.
And while Daniel Osbourne has also been questioned, it's Roy who has been most under suspicion by the police and true crime ghouls online.

Next week, as they take their seats in the police interview room, Roy asks Dee-Dee Bailey for a piece of paper and an envelope and begins to write. In the court, the CPS barrister paints Roy as a murderer with a violent past and lists his crimes including the assault on Gary and the abduction of Wayne.
As Nina, Evelyn and Carla await Roy’s bail hearing, Dee-Dee hurries over and hands Nina a letter from Roy. Fighting back tears, they realise that Roy’s convinced he’s going to prison and unable to face the hearing, Evelyn heads back to the cafe to check on Freddie.
Back in court, Dee-Dee puts forward her case and urges the judge to grant Roy bail, but the judge refuses the application and orders that he be held in custody until his trial. In the cafe, Bobby is given food for thought whilst mulling over Roy’s predicament with Bernie.
