Coronation Street fans have been reacting to the news that Roy Cropper will be arrested in upcoming scenes. The mild-mannered stalwart of the street is unfortunately no stranger to brushes with the law - whether it's himself or with the people he's helped over the years.
But there will be a shock next week when Roy, played by David Neilson, is arrested for the murder of Lauren Bolton. The tearaway teen has attempted to create a life for herself in Weatherfield after escaping the far-right gang her dad was a part of.
However, as viewers of the ITV soap know, Lauren had been lying about having a boyfriend and secretly using O-Vidz when a mystery man appeared at Lauren's door to surprise her on Valentine's Day and her shock was written all over her face as her heart appeared to sink but viewers were never told who the visitor was.

Later, Lauren's new love interest Bobby found her flat unlocked, with Lauren nowhere to be seen. It came after her earlier claims to Roy she was going to flee the street as he visited her with her wages after she stole from Bethany Platt, which saw her lose her job.
And next week, after helping Evelyn Plummer clear up the flat after her landlord informed her he wanted it back because of her sub-letting, Roy becomes a prime suspect in Lauren's disappearance which becomes a murder investigation when what looks like blood is found on the curtains.
