Coronation Street fans go wild as two cobbles icons are reunited on TV

Coronation Street fans have taken to social media to share their excitement as two of the ITV show’s iconic stars get set to reunite on the small screen. Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward, who played lovers Eva Price and Aidan Price on the popular soap, are stars of the new Channel 5 show The Good Ship Murder, which makes its debut on Friday, 13 October at 9pm.
As part of the eight-part series, viewers will see Catherine and Shayne take the roles of First Officer Kate Woods and detective turned singer Jack Grayling as they attempt to get to the bottom of a murder on a cruise ship. The Good Ship Murder marks the first time Shayne, 38, and Catherine, 40, have worked together since they played on-off couple Aidan Connor and Eva Price on Corrie - and soap fans have been unable to contain their excitement at the prospect.
“From the cobbles to the ship, can't wait for Friday, to watch @shayneTward and @Cath_Tyldesley back together again, can see #TheGoodShipMurder is gonna be a gooden,” wrote one social media user on X. “#Corrie fans like me who loved Eva and Aidan & were saddened by their tragic ending, we get to see their awesome portrayers work together again in their new show #TheGoodShipMurder I am so happpyyyyy,” added another.
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “Great to see Aidan and Eva reunited on @channel5_tv #TheGoodShipMurder @shayneTward @Cath_Tyldesley.” During their time on the Coronation Street cobbles, Catherine and Shayne’s characters embarked on a three-year long relationship which saw them face several ups and downs including infidelity as well as a hoax pregnancy.
