Police have stormed a Glasgow Tesco store close to an area of the city currently locked down amid fears of a bomb scare.
Video posted on social media shows officers drawing up at the Forge Retail Park in Parkhead and yelling at shoppers to "move" as they enter the store.
Several police vehicles converged on the shop with sirens blazing at around 7pm - and a police helicopter can also be heard above the scene.
Officers are then seen to dash inside the store.
Police sources have stressed that the convergence on the retail park is not connected to the Dennistoun bomb scare unfolding nearby, and is in fact a separate incident.
However, it adds to an already busy evening for police in Glasgow's east end.
Police rushed to an address off Alexandra Place at around 3.30pm this afternoon following reports of a suspicious package.
The building where the package was found has been evacuated, as well as local businesses in the area.
Parts of the M8 were closed for a period and drivers in Glasgow have complained about the resulting 'chaos' on the motorway.
Chief Inspector Scott Simpson said of the Dennistoun incident: "We were called around 3.30pm on Thursday, 27 January, 2022, to a report of a suspicious package found within a premises on Milnbank Street in Glasgow.
"Officers are in attendance and EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) have been contacted."
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said of their presence in Parkhead: "Officers are currently in attendance at the Forge Retail Park as part of an ongoing police enquiry.
"No further detail at this time."
