Police have launched a frantic search for a missing Edinburgh man whose family believe may have dementia.
Niall Sandilands was last seen by family at Craigour Crescent, Edinburgh, around 10.30pm yesterday.
Although he has not been medically diagnosed with dementia, 60-year-old Niall's family have told cops they believe he may be suffering with it.
He was reported missing to the police at lunchtime today.
It's believed he was wearing, a grey jacket, grey hooded top, light coloured tan trousers with grey coloured jogging trousers beneath and a grey flat cap.
Police say extensive enquiries have been carried out so far but there have been no sightings of Niall as of yet.
He is known to visit the Gorgie City Farm and Gilmerton areas of Edinburgh. Officers are also checking any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information on Niall.
Sergeant Graeme Gillan said: “Our concern for Niall is growing as his family has informed us he may have dementia, although this has not been medically diagnosed.
"His family is understandably concerned for his welfare and just want him home safe and well. I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Niall or who knows anything of his whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1782 of 19 June 2022.
