Coleen Rooney has shared an X-ray of her broken foot as she hit back at Rebekah Vardy, who claimed that she was "milking" her injury during their court showdown. The two WAGS faced each other in court after Rebekah, 40, sued Coleen, 36, for libel, after Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking stories from her private Instagram account to the press.
Coleen, wife of Wayne Rooney, subsequently won the case, and Rebekah was ordered to pay up to £3million in legal fees. Mother-of-four Coleen wore a plastic grey air boot throughout the trial, after breaking her foot during a fall at home, but Rebekah has accused her of "milking it" for sympathy during the trial.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Rebekah was asked if she thought that Coleen was “milking the moon-boot”, Rebekah laughed and said: “Ohhh I couldn’t possibly [comment]…” Coleen hit back as she posted an X-ray of her broken foot on Twitter on August 2, as she wrote: "Boot's finally off after my break".The WAGs' seven-day Wagatha Christie trial came with many twists and turns, and messages between Rebekah and her then-agent, referring to Coleen, were exposed. In her ruling, Mrs Justice Karen Steyn said it was “likely” that Rebekah's agent at the time, Caroline Watt, “undertook the direct act” of passing the information to The Sun, condemned "vile" trolls who sent abuse after Coleen's initial post, and labelled Rebekah's evidence "manifestly inconsistent" with other evidence heard by the court.
Coleen released a statement after the judgement, in which she said that she never wanted the case to go to court, and she referenced the "expense" of such a case. Her statement read: "It was not a case I ever sought or wanted.
