And now Coleen is set to discuss the trial, and feud, in a new documentary, with Disney+ announcing that the series will drop on the streaming service in October. Announcing the series on their social media, the streaming giant wrote: "Coleen Rooney speaks for the first time.
"Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, a three-part documentary series, will premiere on Wednesday 18 October on Disney+" Fans were quick to react to the news with one dubbing it the "TV event of the year" while another quipped that it was their "Roman Empire." Although not everyone was impressed, with one Twitter user writing: "And this is why I cancelled my Disney plus subscription" and a second added: "Erm no, what a waste of time, won’t be watching" This isn't the first time documentary-makers have turned their eye to the Vardy v Rooney case, with a two-part documentary titled Vardy vs Rooney: The Wagatha Trial, previously dropping on Discovery+. The events of the trial were also fictionalised in Channel 4's Vardy v Rooney series, which starred This Is England actress Chanel Cresswell as Coleen Rooney and Harry Potter star Natalia Tena as Rebekah Vardy.
It also featured Michael Sheen, known for his portrayals of real-life figures such as Sir Tony Blair and broadcaster David Frost, as Coleen’s barrister David Sherborne. And earlier this year the trial was brought to the West End with the play Vardy
