Coldplay announce support acts for UK and European shows

EXCLUSIVE: Armani Jackson (Honor Society, Chad), Bella Shepard (iCarly, The Wilds), Chloe Rose Robertson (Wildflower) and Tyler Lawrence Gray (Our Town, Macbeth) are set as the young leads in Paramount+ series Wolf Pack. The series hails from Jeff Davis, developer and executive producer of the 2011 MTV series Teen Wolf, and MTV Entertainment Studios where Davis is under a deal.

On Friday, we learned the 2023 Eurovision could be held in the UK, as Vladimir Putin continues his devastating invasion of winners Ukraine. While there is no definite yet, the BBC have confirmed they are considering the request to host the competition, which in 2022 saw Sam Ryder clinch the UK’s best result in years.

Jockstrap have announced their debut album ‘I Love You Jennifer B’ and shared its lead single ‘Glasgow’ – scroll down the page to watch the video now.The London-based duo – comprised of Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye – formed in 2017 and have so far released four EPs and a handful of singles.‘I Love You Jennifer B’ will be released on September 9 via Rough Trade Records and is a “collection of Jockstrap tracks that have been three years in the making”, according to the band. “Everything on it is pretty singular sounding so we hope there is a track on there for everyone and something that speaks to you and says ‘I’m a banger’,” they added.“I’m not coming to Glasgow,” Ellery sings on the pair’s new song.

Sports Team have announced their ‘Friendship tour’ dates in support of their forthcoming second album ‘Gulp‘.The indie rockers have an 11-date run scheduled across the UK and Ireland between October 11 and 25, 2022. Ahead of that, they play 17 shows in the US from mid September until early October, with dates kicking off in Atlanta on September 16.In the UK the band will play shows in Leeds Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Southampton, Bristol, Norwich, London, Belfast and Dublin.

Lindsey Buckingham has confirmed his rescheduled UK and European shows.The former Fleetwood Mac guitarist and singer was in May forced to postpone the tour after he and members of his live band and crew contracted COVID.A statement at the time read: “This is heartbreaking for Lindsey, he was so excited to come to Europe for the first time as a solo artist this spring.”Buckingham will now play shows in Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool and London between October 3 and October 6, 2022.The UK run follows rearranged gigs in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway and Germany. Morrissey has shared full details of dates and venues for his forthcoming UK tour.Last week, the former Smiths star announced nine forthcoming shows in Blackpool, Doncaster, Glasgow, Stockton, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Brighton along with his previously announced concert in Ireland.Now, he has given a further update on the tour on his Instagram page. The jaunt will see Morrissey kick off the tour at the Gleneagles INEC Arena in Killarney on September 24 before wrapping up at Brighton Centre on October 14.The tour will also include two London dates at the capital’s Coliseum and the O2 Academy Brixton on October 9 and 11.

Eurovision entry Sam Ryder has announced details of a new 2023 UK and Ireland tour.The tour will be in support of his upcoming debut album ‘There’s Nothing But Space, Man!’, which is due to be released on October 14. Fans can pre-order the record now to get access to an early tour pre-sale.The 14-date tour will begin at Belfast’s Ulster Hall on March 17, 2023, with dates in Glasgow, London and Cardiff, before finishing up at Brighton Dome on April 5. Tickets for the 2023 tour go on general sale from June 17 at 9am and can be found here.Ryder came second during this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, with Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra winning the event with a massive 631 points.

With his new 25th anniversary compilation ‘XXV’ out in September, Robbie Williams has announced that he will be heading out to play some of his hits live in UK and Ireland arenas the following month.The new compilation sees Williams re-record a bank of tracks from across his career – including ‘Angels’, ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and ‘Rock DJ’ – with Dutch orchestra Metropole Orkest, which is an interesting way to mark the anniversary. Though the orchestra isn’t mentioned on the tour poster, so maybe the accompanying shows will go with the less interesting usual versions of those songs.“I’m so excited to announce my new album ‘XXV’ which celebrates many of my favourite songs from the past 25 years”, Williams said recently of the record.

LCD Soundsystem have announced two more locations for their residency series, with the band set to perform multiple gigs in Oakland and San Francisco in August.James Murphy and co. will kick off the Bay Area run at Oakland’s Fox Theater on August 16, playing three more shows at the venue across consecutive evenings.

Robbie Williams has announced a greatest hits tour to mark 25 years since started his solo career.The former Take That star will be hitting the road for a series of dates which include two nights at The O2 in London in October. Coldplay’s Chris Martin joined puppet group The Weirdos for a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (June 10).The puppet band was created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, and recently signed to Atlantic and Parlophone Records.The Weirdos’ singer, Angel Moon, has been joining Coldplay on their current tour to sing ‘Music Of The Spheres’ track ‘Biutyful’. Martin returned the favour for the alien puppets’ Tonight Show appearance, sitting on a raised platform, playing acoustic guitar and trading verses with Angel Moon.Meanwhile, Moon’s bandmates Donk, Sparkman and The Wizard “played” bass, drums and keys for their debut TV performance.

The support acts for one of the most anticipated gigs of the year have been announced: the Rolling Stones anniversary concerts. This summer marks a full 60 years since the foundation of the iconic rock band, and the Stones are celebrating with two massive gigs in London’s Hyde Park. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will return to the Great Oak Stage for British Summer Time in Hyde Park this summer for not one, but two dates.
