Morrissey announces full dates and venues for 2022 UK tour

Foo Fighters and Taylor Hawkins' family have announced the first set of names who will join them for a tribute concert in London this September. The Wembley Stadium show is one of two tribute shows for the band's late drummer, who passed away earlier this year, age 50. Joining Foo Fighters at Wembley on September 3 will be Liam Gallagher, QOTSA's Josh Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Supergrass, and Mark Ronson.

The initial line-up for the London tribute concert for Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has been announced.Joining Foo Fighters for the show will be Liam Gallagher, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Mark Ronson, Josh Homme, Chrissie Hynde, Police drummer Stewart Copeland, Supergrass, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Wolfgang Van Halen, The Darkness drummer Rufus Taylor, and drumming legend Omar Hakim.Also taking part will be Jane’s Addiction bass player Chris Chaney – who played with Hawkins in Alanis Morissette’s original live band, as well as Taylor Hawkins And The Coattail Riders and supergroup NHC – and the members of Hawkins’ hard rock covers band Chevy Metal.Comedian Dave Chappelle is also set to make an appearance on stage. The shows will benefit charities to be announced later, according to the band.

Liam Gallagher and Brian May are among the acts who will pay tribute to late Foo Fighters rocker Taylor Hawkins at a special concert later this year.  Hawkins died in March at the age of 50 when the Foo Fighters were in the middle of their tour in Colombia.  The band recently announced a tribute concert will be taking place at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 3, and they have now confirmed the star-studded line-up.

Controversy continues to swirl around The Lady Of Heaven, a film about the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad which last week caused protests in the UK that led to some screenings being pulled. Morocco has now banned the movie while the British government has dismissed imam Qari Asim from his role as an adviser saying he had “encouraged an ongoing campaign to prevent cinemas screening the film” in a “clear effort to restrict artistic expression.” Asim responded that the government’s characterization of his actions is “inaccurate.”
