A 'cold snap' of weather could hit as early as this weekend as a yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for parts of the UK.
According to the Met Office, the temperatures across the UK could plunge by this weekend, after the extended Indian summer saw warm weather throughout the start of October.
Daytime temperatures could be potentially up to 10C colder than earlier this week, with the first widespread overnight frost of the season is also likely across many central and northern areas over the weekend.

It comes as forecasters issued a yellow weather warning for rain across parts of the UK on Thursday (October 12) and Friday (October 13) - which is thankfully predicted to miss Greater Manchester.
The Met Office said heavy rain is likely to reach south west Britain by Thursday evening, before then spreading across much of England and Wales on Friday, including Chester and Birmingham.
Spray and flooding on roads due to rainfall will 'probably make journey times longer' according to the Met Office, with the flooding of homes and businesses described as 'likely', with delays also expected on trains and buses.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Brent Walker, said: “As we head through second half of this week cold air will push southwards across the country and there is a risk that showers over mountains of Scotland could turn wintry.
