Clinical Jeanfield Swifts yesterday swept aside Vale of Leithen 8-0 to maintain their push at the top of the table.
Goals from Paul Simpson, Keiran Stewart, Chris Dodd, Chris McLeish (2) and a hat-trick from Chris ‘Kiffy’ Scott contributed to a very comfortable afternoon.
Manager Ross Gunnion felt his players performed very well from start to finish.
He told the PA: “The squad was depleted slightly but the players available handled the test very well and were ruthless in front of goal.
“We got off to a perfect start scoring early and pushed hard throughout to add to the lead.
“I couldn’t fault anyone for the effort and quality on show.”
For Scott, it was his fifth goal in just two games and Gunnion added: “There were some excellent performances and Kiffy showed his quality again with three excellent finishes.
“He’s mainly been at right back for us this season but we occasionally push him into midfield as he’s very comfortable on the ball and he’s thrived again in that position scoring a hat-trick.”
Swifts sit second in the standings, 10 points back of Linlithgow Rose but still with a game in hand.
Gunnion said: “All we can do now is keep adding wins to our tally and see where it takes us come the end of the season.
“We’re sitting in second with a gap to close on Linlithgow which won’t be easy. But we’re in good form and hopefully playing with confidence heading into the final months of the season.”

I have friends who’ve played table-top, role playing, and fantasy game Dungeons and Dragons (DnD), but I haven’t played ever. My friends tell me I’m missing out by not playing, but none of them will explain and teach me how to play, but what I’ve learned is that players can create their own characters and adventures. Whether Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves keeps true to the spirit of the game, I can’t say. However, as a film, John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein’s execution pays off in a major way. Written by Daley, Goldstein, and Michael Gilio, the movie has an all-star cast including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Daisy Head.
Everyone in Hollywood can project and predict, but no one knows who will be named the winners at the 95th Academy Awards, to be presented Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Kathy McDonald Everyone goes home with an Oscar at the Governors Ball — a chocolate one dipped in gold leaf. The treat is one of the many classics on the menu created by chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur Wolfgang Puck, who will be behind the stove for an unprecedented 29th time at this year’s post-Oscars Governors Ball. While Puck himself will probably not be crafting the evening’s signature spicy tuna-filled sesame cones (more than 2,500 are made) or the Oscar-shaped matzo cracker topped with smoked salmon, he’s there to greet the anticipated 1,500 international attendees who are ready to eat and expecting their favorites.
