Charlie Hunnam is talking about his exit from the Fifty Shades of Grey film franchise, over 10 years after he dropped out of the project.
The former Sons of Anarchy star was originally cast as Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. While he was replaced by Jamie Dornan, she stayed on with the franchise.
Back in June 2014, Charlie talked about the role.
“I felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn’t have taken it on in the first place,” Charlie told Life & Style at the time.

“Aw man, can’t talk about this!” Charlie initially said when the reporter brought up the subject.
The reporter asked, “How has that [the decision to pull out of the film] worked out for you, 10 years on.”
Charlie responded, “I’m not nearly as rich as I would have been.”
He was also asked if he changes the channel when the movie comes on TV. “I have not seen it, but that’s not by design. I want to see it. I’ve been waiting!” Charlie said.
