Following the critical acclaim of the first season, BBC is moving forward with a second season of The Tourist with Jamie Dornan set to return. The six-part thriller commissioned by the BBC in association with Stan and ZDF was created and written by Jack and Harry Williams and produced by award-winning Two Brothers Pictures in association with All3Media International. Shooting begins this April.

Yossman Jamie Dornan is returning for a second season of “The Tourist.” The series, which was written and created by Jack and Harry Williams, is set to go into production in Dublin, Ireland in April. “I’m incredibly excited to continue the story with ‘The Tourist,’” said Dornan. “Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers, and I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and its characters are utilised to keep them guessing as the tale progresses…” In the off-beat thriller with a darkly comedic streak, Dornan (“Belfast”) reprises his role as Elliott, who wakes up one day in an Australian hospital with amnesia following a car crash. Danielle Macdonald (“Dumplin’”) also returns as constable Helen Chambers. In the second season, the duo head to Ireland so that Elliott can rediscover his roots. Soon, however, they get dragged into his past life – with dangerous consequences.

Paul Mescal and Austin Butler have led the stars putting on a dapper display at the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday 19 February. EXCLUSIVE: Belfast breakout Jude Hill has come aboard for a role in Holland, Michigan, the Hitchcockian thriller being directed for Prime Video by Fresh helmer Mimi Cave. K.J. Yossman Fremantle-owned Element Pictures, the production house behind projects including “Normal People” and “The Favourite,” have appointed Christopher Aird as their new creative director. Aird, who comes from Two Brothers Pictures, where he was head of drama, was appointed by Element founders and co-CEOs Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe. He will take up the position, based at Element’s London office, in Jan. 2023 where he will be responsible for managing the development and production slate across both television and film. He will also executive produce selected projects and manage the editorial team.

Normal People producer Element Pictures has made its first signature hire since being acquired by Fremantle, signing up Fleabag indie Two Brothers Pictures drama boss Christopher Aird as Creative Director.

And just like the last two features, “A Haunting in Venice” is getting an all-star cast.

The new ensemble behind the supernatural thriller film is headlined by Branagh reprising his role as Poirot, with Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Michelle Yeoh, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly and Riccardo Scamarico rounding out the cast. Set in post-WWII Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, the film follows another mystery featuring the celebrated sleuth Poirot. Inspired by Christie’s “Hallowe’en Party,” the now retired and living in self-imposed exile Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a haunted palazzo when one of the guests is murdered, and the former detective must once again find out who did it.
