Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett was embroiled in one of the biggest reality TV scandals ever during stint in the Big Brother house in 2018. But the 41 year old has well and truly moved past her 'difficult road', and now lives in the US with her Married at First Sight reality star husband and their young son.
Prior to joining the show, Roxanne was best known for playing Jo Stiles in Emmerdale with numerous award nominations for her on-screen work, but public opinion seemed to shift after the unfortunate CBB event, reports The Mirror. While staying in the house in 2018, she falsely stated that fellow soap star, Ryan Thomas, had 'punched' her.
On the night of the supposed incident, she said she wanted to sleep alone, telling other contestants that she feared physical harm. However, when footage of the incident showed a different version of events, most of the public turned against the ex-Emmerdale actress.
Former Coronation Street star Ryan was deeply impacted by her accusations and was often seen crying inside the house - and appeared somewhat relived when he heard the public calling "Get Roxanne out!" at an eviction night, indicating he hadn't become a hate figure.
This whole episode led to over 25,000 Ofcom complaints and Roxanne later apologised on air, saying she'd made a "terrible mistake." She went on to dramatically quit the limelight after leaving CBB, and also revealed that the extent of the backlash took her to a dark place, and she had experienced suicidal thoughts. But she has since moved on - and away - and is now loved-up with her reality show husband.
As Celebrity Big Brother returns, we've taken a look at Roxanne's life away from the spotlight... After the drama on Big Brother, Roxanne moved to America.
