Officers have now released CCTV footage of two men they want to speak about the burglary.
They are urging anyone who recognises the pair to come forward.
Detective Inspector Matt Gregory, of GMP's Trafford district, said: "No one should be made to feel that their belongings aren't safe in their own home.
"Since this burglary was reported, we've gathered information from various sources and are now in a position to appeal to members of the public for help.
"If you recognise any of the men in the CCTV or have any other information, please contact Greater Manchester Police directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers."
