Cassie Steele is reflecting on her roles.
The 32-year-old Euphoria actress, who played Manny Santos in Degrassi, got candid about the possibility of reprising the role in the HBO reboot of the series in an interview with Nylon.
Here’s what she had to say…
On the reboot at HBO: “I haven’t heard a ton about it. I saw it on Instagram. I mean, I’m always looking for Degrassi to be more risky, more like Euphoria, I guess. But Degrassi has its spot and it plays to that crowd. So I think Euphoria will be Euphoria, but in my mind I’m like, ‘I want the competition. Come on. Come on, Linda Schuyler, Degrassi, let’s take them down. Let’s show them some t-tties.”
On if she’s approached to play Manny again: “I will always think about anything if there’s a lot of money to be made, I can be bought. So there’s a price, but I just don’t know. I feel like, what… was she going to come back as a drama teacher? Maybe. She had to come back, be a drunk drama teacher. I feel like it would be more fun to make a series about the actual lives of the real cast.”
On the reception to the show: “It does feel like a different lifetime, but I feel like it’s still such a huge part of my life. There’s always a reboot. I know that there is this now, but not too long ago, there was another wave when it got debuted on Netflix. I’m excited to see what the new show’s going to be like. I really, really want to challenge Euphoria.”

Daniel D'Addario Chief TV CriticSPOILER ALERT: Do not read this review if you haven’t watched “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name,” the Season 2 finale of “Euphoria.”When Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie Howard charged the stage during her sister’s self-produced theater work in the season finale of “Euphoria,” the audience at the show’s hypercharged high school was left uncertain as to whether her outburst was part of the play.In the most clever moment of a tricky, meta, exceptional season of television, the answer, of course, was both that it was and was not. The play, on which the action of the season hinged, was designed to elicit an angry reaction from Cassie, and it achieved its goal; Cassie’s freaking out at playwright Lexi (Maude Apatow) was an inherent plot point, though Lexi couldn’t have predicted the specifics.
Things are getting messy. Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) and Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) had a toxic on-again, off-again relationship before her best friend Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) came along and stirred the pot.
