Five people have been arrested while cars and drugs have been seized as part of a major crackdown on crime in Rochdale. More than 30 vehicles were targeted during the operation last week, as neighbourhood officers targeted those who use the borough's roads to commit crime, including dangerous driving and drug dealing.
Police also carried out speed enforcement in the evening and early hours of the morning, on roads highlighted as a risk by members of the community in Kingsway and Kirkholt. Three vehicles were seized for issues such as driving without insurance or being suspected as stolen, and the drivers involved are due to face court.
Officers also carried out a number of stop searches in the area, leading to 15 pieces of intelligence being gathered. Greater Manchester Police says those pieces of information can be 'acted on bringing even further enforcement'.

Officers arrested five people on suspicion of:
Possession with intent to supply, dangerous driving, theft of motor vehicle, offensive weapon
Possession with intent to supply class A drugs
Dangerous driving
Driving whilst unfit through drugs and cultivation of class B drugs
Causing grievous bodily harm, following an alleged attack with a machete
