Cannes 2021: New Films From Paul Thomas Anderson, Paul Schrader, Jane Campion, Sean Penn & More Could Premiere

Breathe in, breath out, say om — get zen! Hollywood stars often lead the charge on wellness trends, and the practice of meditation is no different.

Paul Schrader’s next film “The Card Counter,” which stars Oscar Isaac in a revenge thriller, has been set for a theatrical release on Sept. 10, 2021.

EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-nominated Betty Gilpin (GLOW) will play Mo Dean, joining Dan Stevens as her husband John Dean in Starz’s Watergate drama Gaslit, starring Julia Roberts and Sean Penn. Also cast as series regulars are Shea Whigham (Joker, Perry Mason) and Darby Camp (The Christmas Chronicles, Big Little Lies) in the drama based on the first season of the Slate podcast Slow Burn. The series is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Focus Features has set Sept. 10 for the Paul Schrader’s revenge thriller The Card Counter.

A big personality with an even bigger mouth, Martha is a celebrity Arkansan socialite and wife to President Nixon’s loyal Attorney General, John Mitchell (Penn).
