The Afghan Whigs have announced ‘How Do You Burn?’, their first new album in five years, and shared their latest single ‘The Getaway’ – you can hear the new song below.After returning with new music back in February, the five-piece are now set to release their ninth studio album, which will be the follow-up to 2017’s ‘In Spades’, on September 9 via Royal Cream/BMG. Embrace have announced details of their new album ‘How To Be A Person Like Other People’ and an accompanying UK tour.The forthcoming record, Embrace’s eighth studio album, will be the follow-up to the band’s 2018 LP ‘Love Is A Basic Need’.Produced by the band’s Richard McNamara, ‘How To Be A Person Like Other People’ is set to be released on August 26 via Embrace’s own Mo’betta label through Townsend Music. Ride have announced new reissues of their early albums and EPs to mark their 30th anniversary as a band.The Oxford group are set to re-release their seminal 1990 debut ‘Nowhere’ and its follow-up ‘Going Blank Again’ (1992) on November 4 via Wichita Recordings.Per a press release, the former will be pressed on on blue vinyl with a gatefold sleeve and embossed artwork; the latter, meanwhile, is available on double orange vinyl with a gatefold sleeve.Additionally, fans will be able to get their hands on Ride’s first four EPs – ‘Ride’, ‘Play’, ‘Fall’, and ‘Today Forever’ – on a new double white vinyl compilation called ‘4 EPs’. This comes with a 16-page booklet featuring archive photos and an essay by Sonic Cathedral’s Nathaniel Cramp.All the original audio has been reworked and refined, with the upcoming reissues also available on CD and streaming services.

Mogwai‘s Stuart Braithwaite has announced details of a memoir – find out all about Spaceships over Glasgow: Mogwai and Misspent Youth below.The book is set to land on September 1 via White Rabbit Publishing, and will tell the story of Braithwaite’s childhood in Scotland, through his musical beginnings and decades-long career with Mogwai.“I am immensely proud to be working with White Rabbit on my first book Spaceships Over Glasgow,” Braithwaite said in a statement.“The process of researching it and writing it has been challenging but one that I’ve really enjoyed.
