The late composer Stephen Sondheim was honored with an incredible tribute at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Some of Broadway’s best stars and a hot rising star performed a medley of Sondheim songs during the In Memoriam segment on Sunday (April 3) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Tony Award winners Cynthia Erivo, Ben Platt, and Leslie Odom Jr. were joined by West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler to sing “Not a Day Goes By” from Merrily We Roll Along, “Send in the Clowns” from A Little Night Music, and “Somewhere” from WSS.
The four entertainers performed while the In Memoriam roll played behind them, ending with the image of Sondheim.
