Leo Barraclough International Features Editor British actress Amy Tara has been cast in a leading role in the U.S. mystery-thriller “Dream.” The film tells the story of a group of friends who are led by a dream to uncover what they believe might be a trafficking industry in their small working-class town.
“Dream” is written and directed by Ben Pauling, and co-directed by Sam Pauling. The film is financed through ArchAge Pictures.
Executive producers are Jon Pauling, Micheal Flaherty, co-founder of Walden Media, and producer of “Everest” and a production executive on “Chronicles of Narnia,” Brian Rogers, producer of Legendary’s “Godzilla” franchise, and Samuel Rodriguez (“Breakthrough,” “Flamin’ Hot”). Other cast include Ben Pauling, Steven Cox (“The Thinning,” HBO’s “I Know This Much Is True”), Christopher Ammanuel (“April 29, 1992”) and Cameron Hanes.
Tara, who previously appeared in stage play “Indigo Giant,” will next be seen in Stuart Brennan’s action-fantasy feature film “Assassin’s Guild,” in which she plays alongside Ryan Gage (“The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”) and David Hayman (“The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”). “Tara’s journey as an actress is deeply rooted in her desire to bring meaningful stories to life and to provide representation for underrepresented communities,” according to a press statement.
“With her Indian heritage at the forefront, she embraces roles that challenge stereotypes and celebrate cultural diversity.” Tara said: “I believe that as an actress, it’s my responsibility to tell stories that reflect the world we live in. By bringing diverse narratives to the screen, we can create greater understanding and empathy among audiences.” Tara is represented by Keddie Scott Associates.
