The Brit Awards 2024 got off to a rather awkward start on Saturday night (March 2), with fans taking to social media to express their discomfort. The ceremony saw stars from across the globe step out in their most elegant outfits to celebrate the best of the music industry.
Singer Raye, 26, made history having been nominated for a record-breaking seven awards, while Kylie Minogue won the prestigious Global Icon award. BBC Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo, Love Island host Maya Jama and former Capital presenter Roman Kemp joined forces to front the star-studded ceremony.
Ahead of the first award being announced, the audience was subjected to a celebrity 'kiss cam.' With a pink heart projected onto the TV screen - like the sort you'd see in an American football game - the camera began zooming in on the Brits stars.

Comedian Rob Beckett, who'd previously turned up on the red carpet in a blow-up giraffe costume, gave his wife Lou a peck on the lips. It then saw Luke Evans was kissed while Kylie Minogue gave Roman Kemp an embrace.
The first award of the night was up next, with former subpostmistress Jo Hamilton and actress Monica Dolan swiftly introduced to the stage. Monica had portrayed Jo in ITV’s Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
