The 32-year-old actress has received intense fan backlash and trolling for her casting and character since she joined Marvel Studios’ superhero actors in 2016. Reviewers have said sexist comments criticizing the actress, the character and the film before and after Captain Marvel was released.
Brie later tweeted, “*trolls combust*” along with a picture of the cast of The Marvels.
The release date for The Marvels is July 28, 2023.
