An elderly woman has been left with 'life-threatening injuries' after being hit by a car on a main road in Tameside.
The 82-year-old woman was hit on Manchester Road in Audenshaw, near the Snipe Retail Park, at around 6pm last night (Monday). She was rushed to hospital from the scene.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said her injuries are believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the car - a 31-year-old woman - remained on the scene.

She is assisting police with enquiries, the spokesperson added. A red Mercedes was pictured within the cordon last night, though officers have not confirmed whether this was the vehicle involved.
A stretch of the road was taped off for several hours as emergency crews responded, with fire crews also called to the scene. Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has any footage, is being urged to contact GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police appeal for information following a serious collision on Manchester Road. At 5:55pm last night (Monday 20 November) Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Manchester Road, Audenshaw.
"An 82-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is continuing to assist police with enquiries.
"Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision - or who has relevant footage including mobile, dashcam or CCTV
