A man from Spain has been charged over alleged racist abuse at the Manchester United v Atletico Madrid match. Police said a report of racism was made to officers at the Champions League clash on Tuesday night (March 15). Daniel Del Saz Garcia has now been charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence.
Officers said the suspect is a resident of Spain. The 31-year-old has been remanded into custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (Thursday).

A tweet posted on the GMP Stretford account this morning said: "#CHARGED | We've charged a man with a racially-aggravated public order offence after a report was made to us at the match at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Daniel Del Saz Garcia (31), a resident of Spain, was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today."
On Tuesday evening, Atletico Madrid won the game 1-0. United are now out of the competition after losing 2-1 on aggregate.
