A man and woman in their seventies have died after their car plunged more than 30ft off a bridge in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

A young boy died just days after he was discharged from hospital, a pre-inquest review has heard. Dylan Cope was just nine when he died on December 14, 2022.
A pre-inquest review at Newport Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, was told Dylan was taken to the Grange Hospital in Cwmbran on December 6.
Although the review did not hear any details about Dylan’s symptoms, a statement given to WalesOnline by the Cope family’s lawyers told how he was rushed to A&E by his GP for “suspected appendicitis”.
Senior Coroner Caroline Saunders told the court that Dylan was discharged from the hospital in the early hours of December 7. Ms Saunders said Dylan was taken back to the hospital on December 10 and he was transferred to the University Hospital of Wales.
In a statement, the legal team representing the family told WalesOnline that Dylan was discharged on December 7 with the advice to take ibuprofen and information about coughs and colds. However, the statement said Dylan was later diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and sepsis when he eventually returned to hospital on December 10.
The statement from law firm Leigh Day, said: “Dylan attended A&E at Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran, on 6 December on referral of his GP for suspected appendicitis. He was treated with Ibuprofen and discharged at 1.15am on 7 December with a cough and cold advice sheet.
"His condition did not improve and, on 10 December 2022, his father, Laurence Cope rang the emergency number on the A&E discharge sheet. He was advised to contact NHS 111. While waiting for a call back from NHS 111, Dylan’s condition deteriorated so his father took him back to A&E.
