A teenage boy who died after being knocked down in Oldham has been named as Ethan Allen. The 15-year-old died in hospital on Thursday, two days after being hit by a car on Rochdale Road.
It's understood Ethan, a pupil at Oasis Academy Leesbrook in Oldham, had been out with friends and was crossing the street with his 14-year-old girlfriend Olivia when he was hit by a black Seat Ibiza near the junction with King Street at about 8pm.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and later released on bail. Olivia escaped injury.

Today tributes are being paid to the Ethan, of the Holts Estate. And it's been revealed his organs have been donated to help others.
A message on a JustGiving page, set up to help the family with funeral costs, says: "Ethan was a beautiful child, selfless, who always helped others. Even in his passing he has donated his organs to ensure others can live.
"Ethan was full of life, a talented basketball player with many many friends who all want to ensure Ethan gets the send off he deserves. A life cut short, far too soon. We want to try to look after his family in this difficult time and help reduce the terrible burden that they now bear."
Sharmaine Entwistle, Olivia's mum, told the Manchester Evening News: "He was just a really nice lad. He was liked by so many people.
"He had been for something to eat with three of his friends and was walking Olivia to the bus stop when it happened. His mum is distraught."
